About Us!

The name Mayflame carries a very special meaning. It comes from one of my grandad’s horses, Mayflame — a kind, gentle soul with a remarkable bond with another horse, Shadow. Their friendship and quiet strength left a lasting impression on me, and I wanted to create a business that carried their spirit forward: one built on trust, warmth, and genuine care.

 

​Hello, I’m Chelsea, the founder of Mayflame Pet Sitting Services. Animals have been a constant in my life — from growing up with cats, dogs, and hamsters, to working with horses, alpacas, chicken, and pigs and piglets. That lifelong passion for animals, paired with my professional training, has shaped the way I care for every pet entrusted to me. ​I’m based in Gloucestershire (although originally from Wales) and currently work as an Equine Yard Technician, where I’ve spent the last six years.

 

My academic journey includes:

BSc (Hons) Equine Business Management (First Class)

MSc Equitation Science (Distinction) 

Level 3 Equine Diploma

I’m a member of the British Horse Society (BHS) and UKCC, holding BHS Stage 3 Care, Ride Safe, First Aid, Pet First Aid (Level 3), and Sport Horse Welfare qualifications, supported by BHS - full Gold Insurance, Pet business Insurance + DBS.

 

My work brings me into close contact with vets, physiotherapists, chiropractors, farriers, dentists, and therapy teams — giving me a well-rounded understanding of animal health and wellbeing. ​Beyond qualifications, I’ve spent 8 years involved in national and international equine events.

 

Whether it’s a competition horse or a much-loved family pet, I believe every animal deserves the same level of care, respect, and kindness. Mayflame Pet Sitting Services is my way of honouring the animals who inspired me, while giving owners complete peace of mind that their pets are safe, happy, and cared for as if they were my own.
